104th Festival of Frugality - Swedish Edition
Plonkee plays host for the 104th Festival of Frugality (though due to a rounding error by Lazy Man, we’re still one off the actual number!). Plonkee, ever the internationalist, did it in the theme of the beautiful Swedes in celebration of St. Lucia day, which pretty much means you get a interesting factoid with every category. For example, did you know that “Despite being officially neutral throughout the second world war, Sweden granted asylum to all Danish Jews who sought asylum there. Most of them escaped via small boats and survived the war in Sweden.”
Plonkee did have a few editor’s picks but I scanned through and here were mine:
- Ever wonder how CVS’ ExtraCare program worked? Livingalmostlarge gives a brief primer and how to take advantage of the CVS ExtraCare program.
- It’s near the end of the year so FSA’s are coming to a close, glblguru shares some ways to spend down that FSA.
- Last but not least, traveling in your own backyard by poetloverrebelspy is a great frugal travel idea I might try sometime. I’m pretty lucky to have Washington DC and Annapolis so close by so it might be cheating when I draw my circle.
Next week FIRE Finance plays host and we are accepting submissions at this form over at BlogCarnival. Happy Holidays!
