54th Festival of Frugality
Thank you very much to Ben of Money Smart Life for hosting the fifty-fourth Festival of Frugality on really short notice and thank you to Lazy Man and Money, The Simple Dollar, and my good friend Flexo at Consumerism Commentary for offering to host on such short notice as well. Your responses to my hurried post in the Money Blog Network Forums is very much appreciated.
Anyway, my gratitude aside, this week’s holiday burdened festival still held seventeen high quality entries you should take a look at. Here are some gems that I think are worth checking out:
- One of the few posts that really channels Frugal for Life (where all frugal folks go to get the latest tips) this week was Frugal Momma’s do it yourself dust covers.
- FMF has another great tip he pulled from CNN Money for saving on medical costs: ask for free samples. Back in college, whenever I’d get sick, the nurses would always give me some free samples. In addition to getting the medicine for free, you also get it sooner which means you can feel better sooner!
- Getting Green compares the parallels between diet fad pitches and financial product pitches.
