66th Edition of the Festival of Frugality
Who better to host the Festival of Frugality than the Frugal Duchess? Well, guess what, this week’s host is in fact none other than Sharon Harvey Rosenberg, the Frugal Duchess, and she did a marvelous job with the festival including adding personal commentary, always a nice touch!
My favorites from the 66th edition of the Festival of Frugality are:
- Nickel reminds us of an old tip on how to get cashback and avoid ATM fees. I used to do this with my Discover card in Pittsburgh when I was a freshman and didn’t have a local bank account!
- HomeEc 101 writes about roasting chicken. I recently discovered how much food you get from roasting a chicken, as well as how easy it is, and I have to say this is definitely a fantastic frugal tip. I just wait until it’s only sale at 69 cents a pound and cook me up some fine meals of days to come.
- Money Smart Life has some good tips on how college kids can save a few bucks on spring break. The only downside is that any money you save using those techniques will likely result in more beer. Or at least it should.
- FMF writes some tips on how to buy a car using the web. I have personally bought two cars via eBay (click through to read my guide to not getting scammed and getting the best deal). The web is the way to go!
Next week the festival moves to Debt Hater and your entries can be submitted through this great form. Please try to get them in by 6pm CST Monday or there’s no guarantee they’ll make it in the edition.

Thanks so much for the kind mention.
I had so much fun putting together the carnival. I learned so much.
Take Care!

I love when whole chickens are on sale. I always grab a few and chunk toss them in the freezer. It can be a lifesaver when unexpected bills come in. (Can we say unexpected co-pays?)
Thank you for including us in your carnival.
