Lazy Man at Lazy Man and Money is our host this week, and he did a great job with the Festival of Frugality #112. He must have know that I am sitting in for Jim, because he’s making it harder by not making any editor’s choice — well, I have to admit it’s hard when all the submissions are really good.
Since I like lists and numbers, I am going to share the four “perfect numbered” posts:

Beingfrugal.net is our host for this week’s Festival of Frugality and did a fantastic job with the theme idea. In celebration of the NFL’s Super Bowl, she did assembled a powerhouse Team Frugal to go up against Team Finance with The Importance of Delayed Gratification of Cash Money Life as the Quarterback. “If you can’t practice delayed gratification, it’s impossible to be frugal.”
Next week the festival gets punted to Lazy Man so please get your entries in!

Mrs. Micah is our host this week and she brought the Festival back to its basics in the 110th edition by going with simple categories like Frugality, Home, Life, Budget and Food (there are more). There were a lot of great submissions and several made her Editor’s Picks, I snagged the first four to share with you all:
- Are you looking for alternatives to freecycle? Mel of Bean Sprouts has some listed. Apparently certain people have become disenchanted with it. But the good news is that there are plenty of other groups with similar services.
- Catherine of Frugal Homemaker Plus challenges our assumptions about Wal*Mart after her own were shattered. A must-read!
- Are you like me–with a collection of random fancy dresses from prom and bridesmaiding (or even a wedding dress) that you really can’t find an excuse to wear again? Amy and her friends put them to good use with some good cheap fun playing BUNCO! I love it!
- Four Pillars describes a house for sale by owner - the wrong way. I think this fits in well with the frugal vs. cheap debate. If you’re too cheap to buy materials and sell your house right, it may end up losing you a lot of money. You can still be frugal and sell your home yourself…just don’t be cheap.
Next week the Festival moves to BeingFrugal.net so please get your entries in as early as you can. Remember, please keep it about frugality!

Aaron at On Financial Success plays the role of host for the 109th Festival of Frugality this week putting it the Early Bird theme, in-lining great pictures of birds.
I figured I’d highlight the last four articles, since they probably get the least amount of clicky love down there, because they’re just as good as the first four!
Next week our host is Mrs. Micah so please help her out by putting in your articles as early as you can!

Patrick at Cash Money Life acts as host for the 107th Festival of Frugality and does a great job, categorizing all the posts into Editor’s Choices, Around the Home, Cars, Exercise and Healthcare, Food, Personal Finance, Shopping, and the final catch-all category of “The Frugal Way of Life - Musings and More.” This week, instead of picking out the Editor’s Choices and reposting them here, I’m going to pull out all the Exercise and Healthcare posts because it is the new year and so many people are doing the whole resolutions thing (which basically means my gym is packed for a solid month until people give up). So, here are this weeks’ Exercise and Healthcare related frugality posts:
- One Snarky Chica With Issues want[s] you to get fit in 2008 and save money doing it.
- Aparna from Beauty and Grooming shares her frugal tips for winter skin and hair care. She uses only all natural ingredients that are inexpensive and probably already in your home.
- Laura from Opinion Mom uses Fridays as her Fugal Fitness day. She says you can get fit for less and save money while keeping your New Year’s resolutions. Sounds good to me!
Next week our Queen of Frugality, Dawn at Frugal for Life hosts her seemingly millionth Festival of Frugality (it’ll actually be her 10th I believe) so please get your entries in as early as you can!

Happy New Year! This very special 106th New Year Festival of Frugality is hosted by Pinyo at Moolanomy and features seven Editor’s picks of the dozens of entries:
- Spend less than you earn - the wrong way to think @ brip blap — Shares his great philosophy and awesome ideas on how to earn more money. I’ll definitely have to give some of his ideas a try.
- Are You an Overbuyer or an Underbuyer? What Do You Plan to Do About It? @ I’ve Paid For This Twice Already… — This was a guest post written by Mrs. Micah. So are you an overbuyer or an underbuyer? I think I am a “just-about-right-buyer”.
- 12 Frugal Things You Can Do This Week @ Being Frugal — Shares 12 money saving ideas that can save nearly $4,000 a year. The best part about these ideas is that they are not that hard, and I am sure everyone can find at least one useful idea.
- Save a Bundle of Money, Get in Shape, and Help the Environment in One Step @ Free Money Finance — Riding bicycle to work once a week to save money, get in shape, and reduce your carbon footprint. I wish I could do it. I just can’t imagine myself riding my bike in suit and tie.
- Money Saving Monday Tip#20 - Keep the change @ Gather Little By Little — Shares how his family values every penny, and how small change gathered little by little can turn into a big chunk of money.
- Wear a wide brimmed hat and retire extremely early @ Early Retirement Extreme — Presents the ultimate guide to frugality. Interesting read.
- Frugal Vacation Tips @ Ask Mr Credit Card — Shares 5 great tips on how to spend less on any vacation — not just Disney.
It’s a very entertaining festival with great pictures, you can re-celebrate last night all over again!
