In my household here in Florida, we've been trying to keep the thermostat around 78 during the day and a few degrees cooler at night -- can't stand sticky sheets, but fortunately it is cooler at night. (We also lower it a few degrees when we have a few guests over, not just to make them comfortable but also because it's amazing how much body heat a room full of people makes.)

We have a programmable thermostat and that has certainly paid for itself by helping us keep a better eye on temps and getting us out of the habit of bumping the thermostat up and down willy-nilly. This is our first summer with it and we've noticed A LOT of savings compared to when we kept the thermostat closer to 70.
